Republican Mike Williams beats Ken Jefferson in sheriff's race

Republican Mike Williams received the most votes of the night on his way to defeating Ken Jefferson in the sheriff's race.

Williams earned 103,758 votes compared to 97,545 for his Democratic opponent.

Jefferson led the early vote tally by more than 10,000 votes, but didn't hold the lead for long.

Williams couldn't be reached to comment Tuesday night.
