Weekley collecting for holiday

David Weekley Homes is collecting turkeys and canned and nonperishable items for Farm Share Inc., during its Giving Thanks, Giving Back Thanksgiving Drive.

Canned and nonperishable items may be dropped off through Nov. 18 at David Weekley’s division office at 680 Crosswater Parkway, Ponte Vedra, or at any David Weekley model home.

Frozen turkeys may be dropped off Nov. 16 at David Weekley’s division office.

Farm Share uses inmate labor and volunteers to re-sort and package surplus food and distribute it to individuals, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, churches and other organizations feeding the hungry in Florida.

The contest, offered for 17 years by The St. Augustine Record, allows residents to choose their favorite businesses in the automotive, entertainment and recreation, food, legal, financial and real estate, medical services, professional services and shopping categories.

The First Coast Apartment Association kicked off its annual canned food drive to help tackle hunger in Northeast Florida.

Collection boxes have been set up in apartment communities and offices to collect canned food for the Clara White Mission. FCAA members and residents are encouraged to contribute.

FCAA volunteers will pick up donations Nov. 18-20. Cans will be delivered to the Clara White Mission Nov. 21.

Lennar’s Jacksonville team gathered at the division office Sept. 25 to present a check for $10,000 to Warren Caterson, chief development officer at Daniel Kids as part of Lennar’s Focused Acts of Caring initiative.

The Lennar Jacksonville team for years has been a proud supporter of Daniel and Daniel Children’s Charities.

Daniel is a non-profit organization that houses, educates and provides healthcare to severely abused, neglected, discarded and emotionally troubled children.

D.R. Horton Sales Consultant Brenda Rabbitt held a Halloween luncheon for members of the real estate community Oct. 27 at Blue Lake Estates.

Over 60 agents enjoyed a spread of barbequed chicken, ribs, salads and a desert table with items baked by Rabbitt.
