Big turnout for Shearwater opening

Shearwater, a new master-planned community on County Road 210, welcomed more than 1,000 homebuyers to its Jan. 30 grand opening.

Six model homes by builders David Weekley Homes, Lennar, Richmond American Homes and MasterCraft Builder Group were available to tour.

The community’s North Trout Creek Trail and picnic area next to a scenic overlook on Trout Creek are open.

An amenity center will open later this year. It will include a 7,200-square-foot fitness lodge, four Har-Tru tennis courts, resort-style lagoon and lap pools, slide tower, Lazy River and a variety of playfields.

The Condo Group LLC has been selected by WGV Residential Ventures I, LLC to represent La Fontana at World Golf Village, a new condominium community.

La Fontana offers low maintenance golf course living with three- and four-bedroom condominium residences starting at $280,000.

The Condo Group LLC provides knowledge and expertise of the Northeast Florida real estate market, with particular understanding of the unique attributes of World Golf Village and the historic St. Augustine region, said Troy White, principal of WGV Residential Ventures.

The Condo Group was established in 2015 by Jacksonville real estate veterans Michael Bugg and Kathy Browning, who together have 26 years of experience in the multi-family market.

Limited opportunities remain for buyers to select a site for a new home at The Plantation at Ponte Vedra Beach by elacora.

Since sales opened in 2015, the company has sold 30 percent of its available homes in the resort-style community.

The company has built six homes that demonstrate its floor plans.

LandSouth Construction, a Jacksonville-based general contractor, has broken ground on Integra Sands, a $24 million apartment community in Daytona Beach.

Completion is scheduled for April 2017.

The 358,480-square-foot project will feature 264 garden-style apartment homes in six four-story buildings and five two-story carriage houses with mail kiosks.

David Weekley Homes hosted a blood drive, partnering with The Blood Alliance in Jacksonville.

In 2015 the company hosted a drive each quarter, collecting 56 units — enough to save 168 lives.

Jacksonville team members have been participating as part of the company’s CARE program, which focuses on volunteer efforts with various nonprofit organizations.

The Blood Alliance is the sole provider of blood to all Northeast Florida Hospitals and needs 360 pints every day to meet those needs.

David Weekley Homes also held its seventh annual Nocatee Polar Plunge, raising $2,500 for the Daniel Kids Foundation.

A total of 185 Jacksonville team members, business partners and  Willowcove at Nocatee homeowners took the plunge in the community swimming pool.

The foundation is an organization committed to improving the lives of children and families. Donations will assist the organization with a renovation project.

Haley Humphrey in January won the Davidson Cares second annual Cooler & Cocktail Raffle.

The cooler, which was sponsored by Bank of England, was filled with 14 types of liquors, snacks and party supplies.

The contest has raised more than $3,500 for St. Augustine Youth Services, which provides a safe, therapeutic home-like environment for boys who have suffered from sexual or physical abuse and/or severe neglect. The raffle proceeds will go towards a new residential facility on the SAYS campus.

Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville held its fifth annual Golf Fore Homes March 7 at San Jose Country Club.

The benefit included a golf scramble ending with a luncheon and prize presentation.

The Golf Fore Homes event raises needed funds for HabiJax in support of its mission of providing affordable housing in Duval County.
