The state is asking businesses that suffered damage from Hurricane Irma to report it to the Florida Virtual Business Emergency Operations Center.

The center is the state’s primary portal for private sector damage assessment and recovery. Filling out the forms at http://www.flvbeoc.org/index.php?action=bda will help the state assess the damage and begin the recovery process.

The survey information will be shared among state and local agencies providing disaster relief for businesses. This survey also assists the state with determining whether relief services for businesses should be activated.

Federal low-interest disaster loans also are available from the U.S. Small Business Administration to individuals, businesses and nonprofit organizations. The loans can be used for loss and damages not fully covered by insurance.

Applicants may apply online at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela. The filing deadline for physical property damage is Nov. 9. The deadline for economic injury applications is June 11.
