The historic mural depicting French explorer Jean Ribault’s arrival in what would later become Duval County has been removed from the north side of the former City Hall. The mural panels are in the city’s custody for preservation.

More than half of the exterior at the former Courthouse facing the St. Johns River has been demolished.
Water is being sprayed on the building to reduce dust while the back entrance to the former courthouse is being removed.
The area near the northeast corner of the former City Hall is being excavated. The building is scheduled to be imploded Jan. 20.
