Nine finalists from across the nation have been chosen to participate in a business leadership boot camp in Jacksonville and compete for a paid internship with the Adecco Group, the world’s largest temporary staffing firm.

The winner of the 2019 CEO for One Month will be announced at the end of the boot camp, which runs May 14-17. The winner of the monthlong internship will shadow top executives with Adecco Group brands across the country and receive a $10,000 salary.

Company executives and guest judges will mentor and evaluate the nine candidates throughout the boot camp, assessing their collaboration and innovation skills and how they align with the company’s core values and business objectives.

This is the sixth year the Adecco Group has hosted the leadership training program. Jacksonville is home to the Adecco Group’s U.S. headquarters. The Global 500 company is based in Zurich, Switzerland.

“Progressing to this round of the program is a great accomplishment – our nine finalists should be very proud,” added Federico Vione, CEO of Adecco, the Americas, U.K. and Ireland. “At the end of the week, we hope all will walk away with meaningful experiences, empowered to succeed in the world of work.”

The nine candidates were selected from more than 17,000 applications, representing almost 300 colleges and universities, said Mary Beth Sanders, Adecco’s public relations director.

The nine finalists are:

  • Khandker Ahamed, City College of New York
  • Tiffany Baltierra, University of Texas at San Antonio
  • Ben Conard, State University of New York College at Geneseo
  • Monica Hanon, Georgia Institute of Technology
  • Savannah Johnson, University of Pennsylvania
  • Muger Morose, Bridgewater State University
  • Connor O’Brien, Babson College
  • Nirav Patel, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
  • Bonnie Schipper, Columbia University

“This internship is an all-access pass to the inner workings of a multinational business,” said Sergio Picarelli, global president of the Talent Solutions business unit and CEO of professional staffing in the U.S., U.K and Ireland at the Adecco Group. “The person who earns this title can look forward to jump-starting their career and gaining a network of dedicated mentors.”

After the internship, the winner may compete against 40 other CEO for One Month representatives across the world for a spot in the global boot camp and to compete for the Global CEO for One Month.
