The city issued a permit April 7 for Dix Construction Inc. of Flagler Beach to build the 102-room TownePlace Suites at 1287 Airport Road at a cost of $8.39 million.
The five-floor, 63,221-square-foot project is planned on 4 acres.
The city also is reviewing plans for a 105-room Tru by Hilton at 1265 Airport Road on the site. Both have pools. Inn of Jax LLC, the developer, bought the property in July 2019 for $2.85 million.
