Gate adding car wash at Town Center Parkway

The Jacksonville-based company also is renovating a store along Atlantic Boulevard.

Gate Petroleum Co. is renovating one location and building a new car wash at another.

Gate is building a Gate Express Carwash at 4646 St. Johns Bluff Road S., at Town Center Parkway, next to the Gate gas station.

Auld & White Constructors LLC is building the 5,089-square-foot car wash on almost 4.7 acres at a project cost of $2.4 million. 

The city issued a permit for the car wash and pay station Sept. 13.

Gate said there was no timeline for construction. The in-bay wash that now operates at the site will be discontinued after the new car wash is operational.

The city also issued a permit Sept. 13 for National Retail Services Group Inc, of Tucson, Arizona, to renovate the Gate gas station and convenience store at 10044 Atlantic Blvd. at a cost of $950,000. The site is near Leon Road west of Interstate 295.
