Beachfront public parking reopened at Mickler’s Landing in St. Johns County

Work continues on a planned $38.6 million Ponte Vedra Beach restoration project.


The Ponte Vedra Beach restoration project will create habitat for wildlife and enhance beach recreation, according to St. Johns County. It will stretch over more than 9 miles of coastline from the St. Johns-Duval county line south to the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve.

Public parking has reopened at Mickler’s Landing Beachfront Park as progress continues on a planned $38.6 million Ponte Vedra Beach restoration project. 

It is expected to be completed by early August, the St. Johns County public affairs office said April 5.

“Our contractor, Weeks Marine, was able to get the majority of the parking lot cleared up of restoration equipment and supplies, and ready for the public earlier than expected,” St. Johns County coastal environment project manager Sloane Stephens said.
