Northeast Florida Regional Airport expansion project seeks permit

The proposed private facility would include office space, aircraft hangars and parking.

Plans to expand Northeast Florida Regional Airport in St. Johns County are under way.

The St. Johns River Water Management District received a pre-application March 25 permit to develop a 21.1-acre parcel at the airport for a maintenance, repair and overhaul facility.

Jacksonville-based architecture, engineering and construction firm Haskell submitted a pre-application for an environmental resources protection permit.
