JAA approves five-year lease for hypersonic aircraft manufacturer

Atlanta-based Hermeus Corp. will operate at Cecil Airport in West Jacksonville and employ 100 people by 2028.

The Jacksonville Aviation Authority board unanimously approved a five-year lease agreement July 29 for hypersonic aircraft manufacturer Hermeus Corp. to occupy four facilities at Cecil Airport in West Jacksonville. 

The deal follows a $2 million Jacksonville City Council-approved incentives package for the Atlanta-based company.

The Council approved the incentives for “Project Heat” on July 23.
