Reverb Church wants to lift spirits in more ways than one.

St. Johns County issued a build-out permit April 10 for the St. Augustine church to construct Refuel Coffee Co. at a cost of $400,000.

Bryan Lamoureux

The 2,359-square-foot store is planned at 35 Summerlin Lane, Suite 108, off U.S. 1 about two miles north of Northeast Florida Regional Airport in the Airport One mixed-use center.

Middleburg-based Eco One Inc. is the contractor.

Riverside Homes, through Airport One Holdings LLC, is the landowner.

The coffee shop is owned by Reverb Church Inc. The church's CEO is Bryan Lamoureux. The church owns its property there, which includes a smaller-scale Refuel Coffee on-site.

In an email, Lamoureux said the shop will open in summer 2025.

“Refuel will bring more than great coffee to the community. It’s a vibrant, energetic space designed to stir your spirit and inspire your day,” the email said. “Whether you’re grabbing your morning cup, smoothie bowl, favorite bakery item or connecting with a friend, Refuel Coffee Co. is your stop to reset and refuel.”

“We often don’t think about it, but where we choose to spend our money matters—even at our favorite pit stops,” he said. “At Refuel, every purchase fuels more than just your day. You’re supporting a company with a purpose, where the only agenda is making a positive difference in the lives of others.”

All of the profits will go toward missions through Reverb Church. Specifically, Refuel will help provide meals and education for children through partnerships with faith-based humanitarian organizations Compassion International and Convoy of Hope.

Artspeak Creative of St. Charles, Missouri, oversaw the shop’s branding.

The nondenominational Reverb Church was founded in 2012 by Lamoureux and his wife, Renee.
