Google has launched a feature called preferred sources that it says “lets you customize your experience to see more from your favorite sites within Top Stories.”

Here is how to make the Jacksonville Daily Record a preferred source:

Click the icon to the far right of "Top stories" to access the preferred sources settings.

1. Search for a recent news story and click on the icon to the right of the Top stories. In the above example, the search was JEA power plant. You just have to search for a trending news topic that will reveal Top stories headlines.

2. Search for "Jax" and it will show the Jacksonville Daily Record near the top of the list. See the example image below.

3. Check the box next to Jacksonville Daily Record.

A quick way to find the Jacksonville Daily Record is to type "Jax" in the preferred sources search.

Google says, “Once you select your sources, they will appear more frequently in Top stories or in a dedicated ‘From your sources’ section on the search results page. You’ll still see content from other sites, and can manage your selections at any time.”

Thanks for making a Jacksonville Daily Record a preferred source.
