Plans are in review for Dutch Bros Coffee in St. Augustine.
They were submitted Aug. 28 for a 1,333-square-foot store planned at Florida 16 and Green Acres Road east of Interstate 95 in St. Johns County.
JP Real Estate Partners, through St. Augustine Retail at SR 16 LLC, owns the land. Gnitch Architecture Studio of Portland, Oregon, is the architect.
Oregon-based Dutch Bros features kiosks with double drive-thrus and no indoor or outdoor seating.
The location is one of 12 identified in Northeast Florida, of which four are open.
In addition to specialty coffee, the company sells its Dutch Bros Rebel energy drink and nitro cold brew coffee. It also offers teas, lemonades, smoothies and its signature Dutch sodas, along with a limited menu of pastries, granola bars and muffin tops. There is no cooking on-site.
In 2023, Dutch Bros announced plans to enter Northeast Florida.
The company started in 1992 and became publicly traded in 2021 as Dutch Bros Inc. It is listed as BROS on the New York Stock Exchange.
It had 1,045 locations in 18 states as of July 2, 2025, according to data website ScrapeHero.com.
The first area Dutch Bros opened in August 2024 at 50 McCoy Way in St. Augustine, about a half-mile north of a Publix at the Shoppes at Palencia Commons.
Three more have since opened at 5733 Roosevelt Blvd. near Naval Air Station Jacksonville; at 7720 Argyle Forest Blvd. in Southwest Jacksonville; and at 10913 Baymeadows Road in the Winn-Dixie-anchored Point Meadows center west of I-295.
Seven additional sites have been identified in Harbour Village at northwest Atlantic Boulevard and San Pablo Road; at southeast Beach Boulevard and Spring Glen Road; at northeast Beach Boulevard and San Pablo Road; in Flagler Center at Flagler Center Boulevard and Old St. Augustine Road; at northeast San Jose Boulevard and Loretto Road in Mandarin; at the Shops at Race Track Rd ; and at southeast Normandy Boulevard and Fouraker Road.
The name is pronounced “Bros,” not “brothers.”
