Judge Mose Floyd marks the U.S. Marine Corps 250th birthday

Floyd served in the Marine Corps from 1977 to 1999.

At a special session of Duval Veterans Treatment Court on Nov. 5, Duval County Judge Mose Floyd, joined by Sgt. Angel Cruz Jr., cuts the cake to celebrate the U.S. Marine Corps 250th birthday using his personal Marine officer’s Mameluke sword.

Floyd graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, then served in the Marine Corps from 1977 to 1999, when he was honorably discharged with the rank of lieutenant colonel.

A Georgetown Law graduate and former assistant state attorney in Jacksonville, he presides over Duval Veterans Treatment Court.
