The University of Virginia Cavaliers will play the University of Missouri Tigers in the 81st TaxSlayer Gator Bowl on Dec. 27 at EverBank Stadium.
The Gator Bowl announced the matchup of Atlantic Coast Conference Virginia and Southeastern Conference Missouri on Dec. 7.
Virginia (10-3) is No. 19 in the final College Football Playoff rankings. The Tigers (8-4) are No. 25 in the Associated Press Poll.
The Cavaliers were a favorite for a spot in the College Football Playoff but lost to Duke University in the ACC Championship Game.
Virginia is coached by Tony Elliott, who was named ACC Coach of the Year. Missouri is coached by Eliah Drinkwitz.
The Gator Bowl features a matchup of teams from the ACC, SEC and Notre Dame.
Notre Dame (10-2) announced Dec. 7 that the team will forgo playing in a bowl game after it was left out of the College Football Playoff field.
The Gator Bowl is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. and will be nationally televised on ABC.
