Metro Diner is opening a new location July 7 in St. Johns County, the company announced June 30.
The restaurant is in the Publix-anchored Johns Creek Center at 2851 County Road 210 W. It is east of Cimarrone Golf Club and the Golf Club of South Hampton.
The restaurant is owned by Sage Cree. He has worked at Metro Diner for 15 years.
“This area is booming but still has that small town feel — the perfect place for a diner that serves the nostalgic flavors you love with a fresh spin that keeps you coming back,” Cree said in the release.
The new location is 3,623 square feet and seats 119. It has indoor and patio seating.
Metro Diner was founded in Jacksonville in 1992 and is now headquartered in Tampa. It has more than 60 locations east of the Mississippi River.
The restaurant serves homestyle food with an all-day breakfast. It is also known for its fried chicken and waffles.
It has been featured on the Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” hosted by Guy Fieri, and the Cooking Channel’s “Cheap Eats.”
Metro Diner offers a 10% discount to first responders and active or retired military members.
The Johns Creek Center restaurant will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The company plans to extend its hours to serve dinner in the near future, according to the release.
