About Amazon.com says the company launched Amazon Pharmacy in November 2020 as a full-service online pharmacy that “provides a wide variety of medications at affordable prices to customers across the country, whether they have insurance or not.”
“And with 24/7 access to licensed pharmacists, Amazon Pharmacy proves that customer-centric shopping experiences can apply even to getting your medication.”
Amazon said customers can ask their prescribers to send the prescription directly to Amazon Pharmacy or request that Amazon Pharmacy reach out to the prescriber.
PillPack, which sorts medications into packets, can usually fit up to seven individual pills in a single packet, but the amount can vary depending on your specific medications.
If a customer has more than five medications scheduled for a certain time of day, PillPack will include multiple packets with the same time of day to accommodate.’
The pharmacy.Amazon.com site says PillPack offers dispensers made of recyclable cardboard.
It says the packets are designed to open easily, so they should be kept out of the reach of children
“We have fulfillment centers nationwide, and your packets may look or feel a little different depending on where they were made. All our packet styles are secure, easy to open, and printed with the time, date, and medications inside,” it says.
The site says a customer’s PillPack includes a medication list that shows prescription details for every pill in the packets, including a pill image; the medication name and strength; directions for use; the prescriber name.
It says that any medications that don’t come in packets will not be included on the dispenser medication list.
“We reserve the right to process or fill your medication order at any site in compliance with pharmacy regulations — and the dispensing pharmacy will always be identified on the prescription label.”
