Frida, the Miami-based company that sells baby and parent products, is building-out a second distribution center in Westlake Industrial Park in West Jacksonville.
The city issued a permit July 10 for Becknell Services LLC of La Grange, Illinois, to make tenant improvements at 11015 Development Way at a project cost of $2.2 million.
That is the 270,716-square-foot Building 3 at Becknell at Westlake Industrial Park.
The project includes additional office space in the northwest corner of the building along with other work such as dock equipment upgrades.
Almost two years ago, Frida built-out a 270,716-square-foot distribution center at 11007 Development Way after the city issued a permit Sept. 8, 2023, for Becknell Services LLC at a cost of $1.5 million.
That was Building 1.
Becknell at Westlake Industrial Park is a three-building project totaling more than 960,000 square feet off Pritchard Road in Westlake, where Southeast Toyota and BJ’s Wholesale Club, among other companies, have a significant presence. The park is west of Interstate 295.
Becknell Industrial is the developer. The Preston Industrial Team at Colliers, led by Executive Vice President Guy Preston, is the leasing group.
The city issued permits in March 2022 for construction of the first two warehouses at costs totaling $30 million.
Becknell developed Building 1 on 24.38 acres at $12 million and the 419,280-square-foot Building 2 on 35.64 acres at $18 million.
Building 2 is leased to HD Supply.
The city issued a permit for construction of Building 3 in September 2024 on 16.26 acres at what was the former address, 13171 Pritchard Road, at a job cost of $15 million.
Frida, the parent company of Frida Baby and Frida Mom, markets bathing, breast care, grooming, health care, oral care and other products for babies and mothers. It also markets ovulation testing and tracking test kits.
It describes itself as a “born in Sweden, made in America” company and calls itself the brand “preparing parents for the unfiltered realities of parenthood.”
