Baptist Health has hired Eric Fletcher as its executive vice president and chief strategy officer, according to a July 29 news release.
This is a new role for the hospital, aimed at helping it reach long-term goals and initiating ways to increase patient care and satisfaction.
“Eric is a values-driven leader with a deep understanding of the health care landscape, particularly at a community level,” said Michael A. Mayo, president and CEO of Jacksonville-based Baptist Health in the release.
“He understands and recognizes that real health outcomes are not determined solely in hospitals or clinical settings, but also in homes, neighborhoods and communities, and he applies this insight to every strategic decision he makes.”
Fletcher has worked in the nonprofit health sector for more than 30 years. Most recently he served as senior vice president and CSO of Mary Washington Healthcare in Virginia. There, he led systemwide strategic planning for the health system that consists of two acute care hospitals, four emergency departments, behavioral health facility and several specialty outpatient centers.
“I’m committed to working alongside team members, patients and local stakeholders to build a healthier future for this rapidly expanding community,” Fletcher said in the release.
Fletcher graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism. He received a Master of Business Administration degree from Elon University.
