HCA Florida Memorial Hospital opened a head and neck practice at it main campus in South Jacksonville, HCA announced June 11.

HCA Florida Jacksonville Head and Neck Specialists is at 3627 University Blvd. S., Suite 210.

The practice is led by Dr. Russell Smith, a board-certified, fellowship-trained otolaryngology surgeon who specializes in the multidisciplinary treatment of head and neck cancer, the release said.

Specialists at the practice have experience treating conditions including goiter, thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer; skin cancers and melanoma of the head and neck; and skull base tumors.

Services include: cancer staging evaluation to determine surgical and nonsurgical treatment options; thyroid and parathyroid surgery; surgery for benign and malignant tumors of the oral cavity, pharynx and larynx; minimally invasive transoral robotic surgery; minimally invasive transoral laser surgery; salivary gland surgery, including parotidectomy; open and endoscopic skull base surgery; surgery for benign and malignant neck masses; surgeon-performed ultrasound at point of care; and rehabilitation services, including speech and swallowing therapy.
