The Nassau County Planning and Zoning Agency granted a two-year extension June 17 for a proposed Chick-fil-A in Yulee to obtain a building permit.

The project is planned at 463195 Florida 200 in the Villages of Amelia shopping center.

The board unanimously approved the request from Bohler Engineering, the civil engineer for the project.

The county’s Development Review Committee recommended the project’s engineering plan for approval May 14, 2024.

Villages of Amelia is anchored by Publix, HomeGoods and Academy Sports. Plans show the Chick-fil-A in the area marked No. 20.

County regulations require a site work permit to be issued within one year of DRC approval.

The project did not meet that deadline.

In its request to the county, Bohler cited delays in obtaining permits as the reason for the missed deadline.

Plans show a 5,201-square-foot Chick-fil-A with a dual drive-thru, 59 parking spaces and 94 indoor seats.

Villages of Amelia is anchored by Publix, HomeGoods and Academy Sports. Villages of Amelia LLC, based at 1 Sleiman Parkway, Suite 270, owns the site.

It is about a mile west of a single-lane Chick-fil-A built in 2004. That restaurant is 13 miles east of Interstate 95 on Chick-fil-A Inc.-owned land.

Bohler Engineering is headquartered in Warren, New Jersey, with offices in Tampa.
