The Young Lawyers Section of the Jacksonville Bar Association ended its 2024-25 year June 11 at The River Club by presenting charitable donations and installing its 2025-26 board of governors and president.

Kayla Haines Herrin, 2024-25 president, looked back on her year in office.

“Serving as president of the Young Lawyers Section this past year has been an incredible honor. I am deeply proud of what our board and our members were able to accomplish together – from raising over $55,000 for local charities through events like our golf tournament, poker tournament, chili cook-off and Special Olympics bowling, to being recognized by the Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar for our newest program, Young Lawyers Institute, with the Affiliate Member Service Project of the Year award, to expanding mentorship, professional development and community engagement opportunities for young lawyers across Jacksonville,” she said.

“This role has shown me the power of collaboration and the lasting impact we can have when we show up for each other and our community. I am grateful for the dedicated service of our board, the support of the Jacksonville Bar Association Board of Governors and the passion of every YLS board member and member who helped make this year such a success.”
