Development is underway at Wildlight Commerce Park in Nassau County.

Developer Pattillo Industrial Real Estate broke ground June 25 on the first phase of the park at 100 Wildworks Ave. off Florida 200 in Yulee. It is about 1.5 miles east of Interstate 95.

Pattillo Vice President of New Development Peter Anderson, right, with Pattillo CEO Josh Harrison, said initial construction at the commerce park is expected to last about a year.

The two buildings under construction are 149,000 and 68,000 square feet. Both are speculative and divisible, according to marketing materials.

Construction of the first phase is expected to last about a year, according to Peter Anderson, Pattillo’s vice president of new development. He said future phases will be based on demand.

“There is more surety when you have an existing building and can promise dates,” Anderson said.

Atlanta-based FCL Builders is the contractor. Pattillo is based in Atlanta and has an office in Jacksonville.

Wildlight is a master-planned, mixed-use community in Yulee designed to blend residential, commercial and recreational space. It includes retail and health care providers.

“To be kicking off this park and having the medical and the restaurants and the shopping and the housing already there is a huge advantage,” Anderson said.
