Chick-fil-A announced the official reopening May 6 of its rebuilt restaurant near the entrance of the Queen's Harbour development in Jacksonville.
The chicken sandwich and tenders chain is at 13375 Atlantic Blvd. at Joandy Road north of Hodges Boulevard.
After considering plans to renovate its existing building, which was built in 2000, Chick-fil-A decided to raze and rebuild it.
In 2024, the structure was demolished and the city issued a permit for construction of a 5,329-square-foot restaurant at a job cost of $3.8 million.
Features of the rebuilt restaurant include a kids' playground, a dual-line drive-thru and a mobile drive-thru for online orders.
The restaurant owner-operator is Melinda Sowers, who also operates the Chick-fil-A at Atlantic and Kernan boulevards.
Chick-fil-A said the Queen's Harbour restaurant will employ 110 full- and part-time workers.
K9s For Warriors, a nonprofit that pairs military veterans with service dogs, raised the U.S. flag to celebrate the grand opening. Chick-fil-A donated $2,500 to the organization.
Restaurant hours are 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 6:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday. It is closed on Sunday.
Joeandy L.C., a Jacksonville investment partnership, bought the property for $970,000 in 1998 from Queen’s Harbour Yacht & Country Club Ltd. and leased the land in 1999 to Chick-fil-A, property records show.
