Atlanta-based Ameris Bank announced May 12 that it named Luciano “Lou” Noir-Jones as Jacksonville market president.
He is responsible for leading the bank’s Commercial Banking team’s efforts to further grow the Jacksonville market, according to a news release.
He previously served as the North Florida area executive for more than three years. He has worked in the banking industry for more than 20 years and also worked at Wells Fargo, First Atlantic Bank and Atlantic Coast Bank in roles ranging from retail group manager to commercial lending and business banking team leader, the release said.
Noir-Jones serves on the boards of the Gator Bowl, Challenge Enterprises, Hubbard House and St. Johns County Economic Development Council, and coaches baseball at the Episcopal School of Jacksonville.
Noir-Jones will report to the bank’s Florida state president, Emily Dawkins.
“With his financial leadership and a strong commitment to community engagement, Lou Noir-Jones brings the strategic insight and passion for Jacksonville that will help us continue delivering exceptional service to our customers across North Florida,” Dawkins said in the release.
Ameris Bank is opening a branch Downtown at 200 W. Forsyth St. in the former Truist Tower that several banks had anchored on the Northbank.
The city issued a building permit April 16 for the branch. Ameris said it will open in the third quarter, which is July-September.
Ameris operates 164 financial centers across the Southeast, according to the release. It has 12 branches in the Jacksonville area.
