Crowley names Gunnar Moriarty vice president of commercial operations

He will focus on the maritime company’s brokerage and business development in North America.

Crowley named Gunnar Moriarty vice president of commercial operations for its Land Transportation business unit, focused on advancing the company’s inland end-to-end trucking and intermodal solutions in North America.

He will focus on integrating technologies to strengthen Crowley’s position in the brokerage sector and drive business development focused on customer solutions that can leverage Crowley’s comprehensive logistics offerings, the company said in a May 21 news release.

“Gunnar is an accomplished leader who brings a great deal of experience to help Crowley achieve its growth strategy in the land transportation and brokerage markets,” Phil Shook, senior vice president of Crowley Land Transportation, said in the release.

“We will lean on his leadership and expertise as we look to increase our integrated logistics solutions and deliver greater value and efficiency to our customers across the U.S.”

Moriarty received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Privately held Crowley is a U.S.-owned and -operated maritime, energy and logistics solutions company headquartered in Jacksonville. 

As a global ship owner and operator, Crowley serves 36 nations and island territories and is one of the leading employers of U.S. mariners.
