ArchWell Health, a health care service provider aimed at patients 60 and older, will open May 28 in Arlington at 1072 Arlington Road N. in a building north of the Arlington Expressway.

It is the first of four ArchWell Health clinics scheduled to open in Northeast Florida in coming weeks.

ArchWell Health specializes in treating patients with Medicare Advantage coverage.

The other three locations scheduled to open are:

• Archwell Health - Jax Heights, 7628 103rd St. in Oak Hill Village, on June 12.

• ArchWell Health - Normandy, 5930 Normandy Blvd. in Westside Plaza, on June 26.

• ArchWell Health - Orange Park, 311 Blanding Blvd., Suite 4, in Blanding  Plaza, on July 10.

A Brentwood location, ArchWell Health – Brentwood at 5000-4 Norwood Ave. in Gateway Town Center, is planned to open this year

With the Jacksonville area centers and more on the Gulf Coast, ArchWell Health is expected to have 21 offices open by early 2026.

There are more than 60 centers in nine states.

If Archwell is a member’s primary care physician, that member can use any Archwell location when out of town because all locations have access to medical records.

Tim Jeans

ArchWell Health was formed in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2021. It works on a Value Based Care model in contrast to the more traditional fee-for-service model, said Tim Jeans, ArchWell Health Regional Growth director for Florida.

In a fee-for-service model, providers bill patients on a per-service or per-procedure basis. Value Based Care services are billed depending on patient outcomes, equity and cost of care, according to the American Medical Association.

ArchWell Health members are encouraged to come in every six or eight weeks, allowing staff to track progress and create more awareness of living a healthy lifestyle.

“We want to identify problems before they cause symptoms or affect the quality of life. So we do a lot of what we call behavioral health screenings,” Jeans said.

“So we’re all about picking up early disease when there’s something we can do about it before it impacts people’s lives and encourages creating a healthy lifestyle,” Jeans said.

Members are also invited to drop by unannounced for a coffee or to meet with others for games and discussions. This service is aimed at those who have lost a spouse or have few remaining friends.

Judith Ford

“We have activity rooms where members can stay and play B-I-N-G-O, do chair yoga or attend nutrition classes,” said Dr. Judith Ford, ArchWell chief clinical officer.

“We we are completely aware that loneliness is a real problem in American seniors. So that is part of our thinking about it. We are healthcare, but we have to be aware of some of these social realities of getting older in America.”

ArchWell is staffed by board-certified physicians and medical staff. Offices are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with 24-hour access to doctors on duty via telephone.

It is not affiliated with any area hospitals. If tests or treatments cannot be performed in the office, members will be referred to other medical centers for care.
