Retirement creates vacancy on 7th Circuit bench

Seventh Judicial Circuit Judge Stasia Warren is retiring effective June 5.

Warren began her judicial service in 1991 as a Volusia County judge, where she served for more than two decades before stepping down in 2012.

She returned to the bench in 2017 when elected as a circuit judge, presiding primarily over family law cases in Volusia County.

Before becoming a judge, she was a prosecutor in the 7th Circuit for six years and spent four years in private practice. Warren received her law degree from the Detroit College of Law and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1980.

The vacancy will be filled by gubernatorial appointment. The application deadline is 9 a.m. June 23. For more information, visit tinyurl.com/2s3b8p5y
