A McDonald’s fast-food restaurant may be coming to Hilliard in Nassau County.
The restaurant site is at 15885 County Road 108 at U.S. 301 east of Southeastern Bank.
It would be the fifth location in the county, according to the statistics website City-Data.com. The nearest McDonald’s is about 11 miles away in Callahan.
The St. Johns River Water Management District began reviewing an environmental resource permit May 23, as the project may impact wetlands. Plans are not yet in review by municipal utility JEA or Nassau County.
Tampa-based Osprey Engineering Group is the civil engineer. The landowner is BY Franklin Properties.
The fast-food chain was founded in 1954 in San Bernardino, California. It now has more than 36,000 restaurants in about 100 countries, according to Mcdonalds.com.
The website LocationsCloud.com reports there are 836 McDonald’s restaurants in Florida as of May 11.
