JBA YLS supports Special Olympics Florida

A charity bowling tournament and a 5K race raised more than $7,000.

Building on its strong relationship with Special Olympics Florida, the Jacksonville Bar Association Young Lawyers Section board of governors kept the momentum going from its annual charity bowling tournament, “Pin Pals” and fielded a team for Special Olympics Florida Northeast Region’s annual 5K Race for Inclusion.

Special Olympics Florida offers year-round sports training and competition in Olympic-style sports for individuals with intellectual disabilities, fostering physical fitness, courage, joy and community engagement.

After donating $6,340 in proceeds from the Pin Pals event, board of governors members and their families were able to raise an additional $800 at the 5K for Special Olympics Florida.

This year’s Pin Pals event and Race for Inclusion team were organized by Austin Sherman and Julianna Favale.

The Young Lawyers Section is proud of its continued relationship and support of Special Olympics Florida athletes.
