The city issued a permit Nov. 6 for First Coast Energy LLP to replace a Daily’s Dash gas station and convenience store in West Jacksonville with a larger one.
C. & R. General Contractors Inc. of Jacksonville is the contractor for the $3.2 million project on 4.88 acres that First Coast Energy owns at 620 Chaffee Road S.

At southwest Interstate 10 and Chaffee Road South, the site is where Crystal Springs Road connects with Chaffee.
Duval County Property Appraiser records show that First Coast Energy built a 5,000-square-foot gas station and car wash on the site in 1999. It operates as a Shell station.
The first phase of the new project will include a 7,350-square-foot convenience store with an 850-square-foot patio with a fuel canopy and 12 fueling positions.
Plans show the second phase will replace the existing station and car wash with truck parking and a larger car wash.
England-Thims and Miller Inc. of Jacksonville is the civil engineer. R. Wulbern Architect of Jacksonville is the architect.
The city issued a permit June 27 for site clearing.
