Total Wine & More has scheduled the opening of what it identifies as its first new store in North Jacksonville in nearly 20 years.
A Nov. 13 opening is set for the store in River City Marketplace at 13275 City Square Drive, according to a news release from the retailer. It replaces the OfficeMax that closed March 22 in the shopping center.
The release says the 20,000-square-foot store will carry more than 8,000 wines, 4,500 distilled spirits and 2,500 varieties of beer along with nonalcoholic beverages.

Other features include tasting stations, a walk-in humidor with more than 50 cigar brands and an in-store classroom for classes and events with winemakers, distillers and brewers.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Through a partnership with the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville, Total Wine & More will donate 10% of all wine sales to the museum from Nov. 13-16.

The Daily Record reported June 27 that the city issued a permit for Retail Contractors of Puerto Rico Inc. of Marine City, Michigan, to renovate the 20,067-square-foot store at 13275 City Square Drive at a project cost of almost $1.7 million.
The city also issued a permit for a roof modification at the building at a project cost of $153,920.
Bethesda, Maryland-based Total Wine & More operates one store in the area, at 4413 Town Center Parkway in St. Johns Town Center North.
