The city is reviewing a permit application for Ellianos Coffee to build a drive-thru kiosk in Girvin Plaza near East Arlington.
Charles Johns Construction Inc. of Lake City is the contractor for the estimated $538,000 project to build an 820-square-foot kiosk on 0.25 acre at 12795 Atlantic Blvd., at northeast Atlantic Boulevard and Girvin Road.
Ellianos.com says Ellianos Coffee “is bringing its esteemed drive-thru coffee experience to Atlantic Blvd very soon!”
Ellianos Coffee, with at least nine open drive-thrus in Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties, has been exploring more locations.
The nine Northeast Florida sites comprise five in Jacksonville and one each in Fernandina Beach, Orange Park, Middleburg and Saint Johns.
Scott and Pam Stewart founded Lake City-based Ellianos in 2002.
The chain serves its beverages at a double-sided drive-thru coffee kiosk.
The menu includes hot and iced coffee beverages, freezers, smoothies, shakes, refreshers, tea, energy drinks and other beverages.
Food items vary by location. They include breakfast bowls, sandwiches, bagels, pastries and snacks.
Daily hours vary as well, typically opening at 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., closing from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Ellianos, which franchises, says it is expanding throughout the Southeast U.S.
