Candidates selected for vacancy on 4th Judicial Circuit Court

The group comprises two county judges, an administrative law judge, a general magistrate, an assistant state attorney and a lawyer in private practice.

After interviewing 10 applicants for the new vacancy on the circuit court Sept. 2, the 4th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission selected six candidates to be considered for appointment by Gov. Ron DeSantis:

• Marquita Green, a general magistrate in the 4th Judicial Circuit.

• Jenny Higginbotham, a Nassau County judge.

• Matthew Lufrano, owner and shareholder at Lufrano Legal P.A.

• Kristina Mobley, a Clay County judge.

• Joel Powell, an assistant state attorney in the 4th Judicial Circuit.

• Nicole Saunders, an administrative law judge with the state Division of Administrative Hearings.

The nominees will be interviewed in Tallahassee by the governor’s staff. DeSantis will either appoint one of the candidates or ask the commission to provide alternative nomineess.
