Shake Shack says it will open its second Northeast Florida restaurant Sept. 24 in the South Beach Regional shopping center in Jacksonville Beach.

The fast-casual restaurant is at 3956 Third St. S. in an endcap space that was previously South Beach Cleaners. It is across from Huey Magoo’s Chicken Tenders.

The Beaches location has indoor and covered outdoor seating. There is no drive-thru.

Shack Shack said in a news release Sept. 18 that on opening day $1 from each sandwich sold will be donated to Feeding Northeast Florida.

Restaurant hours are 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

A Regency Centers Corp. map of the South Beach Regional shopping center in Jacksonville Beach shows Shake Shack in space No. 20 across from Huey Magoo's Chicken Tenders.

The Daily Record first reported about the Shake Shack in January when permits were in review to alter its space and build a covered patio. Regency Centers Corp. owns South Beach Regional.

The area’s first Shake Shack opened at St. Johns Town Center at 10281 Midtown Parkway in September 2024, replacing M Shack.

Shake Shack Inc. calls itself a “modern day ‘roadside’ burger stand.”

The first Shake Shack opened in 2004 in New York City. It started as a hotdog cart in Madison Square Park in 2001. It is known for its burgers, upscale fries and milkshakes. All of the burgers are made to order.

It was started by Danny Meyer, known for the Manhattan upscale restaurants Gramercy Tavern, 11 Madison Park, Le Bernardin among others. He is the founder and executive chairman of the Union Square Hospitality Group.

There are Shake Shacks in more than 30 states and 23 locations in Florida.

The burgers are available as a single or stacked two and three patties tall.

According to the St. John Town Center website, burger prices range from $9.29 for a quarter-pound single to $13.29 for limited-time French onion soup burger. Burgers can be customized for an extra charge.

Shake Shack also sells BLT, chicken and grilled cheese sandwiches along with chicken bites.

Fries start at $3.99 and go up to $6.49 when topped with Parmesan cheese, American and cheddar cheese and bacon. Shakes start at $5.99.
