Construction is underway on a Home2 Suites by Hilton at the Fountains at St. Johns, according to a Sept. 30 news release.
Jacksonville-based Cerris Builders and Cross Regions Group are developing the four-story, 137-room hotel with Ideal Hospitality Investments, of Pooler, Georgia. It is the only hotel planned at the intersection of Interstate 95 and County Road 210, the release says.
The hotel is the first project within Fountains East in St. Johns County, a 23-acre development planned for about 200,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and medical office space. The overall Fountains property is about 100 acres, which includes several restaurants and is anchored by Ascension St. Vincent’s St. Johns County.
“We are thrilled to begin construction on this highly anticipated development — the only hotel at the intersection of I-95 and CR 210,” said Isaac Byers, division manager for Cerris Builders, in the release. “This Home2 Suites by Hilton reflects our commitment to building projects that strengthen communities, and we’re proud to partner with Ideal Hospitality Investments and Cross Regions Group to deliver lasting value for travelers and residents alike.”
Other projects at Fountains East include a 174-unit active living facility. Cross Regions CEO David Ergisi said March 19 the multiphase development will also add assisted living and memory care.
A 35,000-square-foot walkable town center is planned at Fountains East with tenants including Island Wing Co., DaVinci’s Pizza, Toasted Yolk and St. Johns Aesthetics and Wellness Center, confirmed by Cross Regions Group.
