A miniature golf course is proposed for the SilverLeaf master-planned community in northwest St. Johns County, the latest nonresidential project earmarked for the developing submarket.
A commercial application filed with St. Johns County outlines plans for Beach Valley Mini Golf, a 36-hole, two-course facility spanning about 2 acres.
It would be SilverLeaf’s first recreational attraction open to the public.
The proposed site, owned by The Hutson Cos. through White’s Ford Timber LLC, is south of SilverLeaf Drive and west of St. Johns Parkway.
Jacksonville Beach-based Legend Engineering is the civil engineer for the project, which includes a 30,131-square-foot layout featuring two 18-hole courses, a clubhouse, two pavilions and parking.
The county’s Development Review Committee is scheduled to review the project April 22.

Project owners are spouses Michael and Bridgette Goolsby, according to SilverLeaf commercial developer Chet Skinner of Skinner Bros. Realty. The couple plans to lease the land, Skinner said.
Michael Goolsby is director of delivery for workforce provider Talent Solutions TAPFIN. Bridgette Goolsby is vice president of marketing for workforce management software firm Beeline.
Calls to Michael Goolsby for comment were not returned.
The proposal follows a surge of commercial activity within the SilverLeaf Town Center node. A 55,701-square-foot Publix at 1975 SilverLeaf Parkway opened March 26, anchoring a shopping center that includes Avalon Nails, Club Pilates, SoFresh, The UPS Store and Fifth Third Bank.
About 2 miles west, a 61,000-square-foot grocery project matching the footprint of a Harris Teeter is in permitting. The North Carolina-based grocer has declined comment on its potential involvement with that site, at County Road 16A and SilverLeaf Parkway.
At full build-out, SilverLeaf is planned to include 16,300 homes and more than 2 million square feet of commercial space.
The SilverLeaf location would be Beach Valley’s first, putting it in a regional market that includes Adventure Landing, Anastasia Miniature Golf and Fiesta Falls Miniature Golf.
Nothing Putt Fun and Games also is working through the county approval process.
