Walmart announced Feb. 4 it opened its “next generation” Supercenter in Southwest Jacksonville.
The roughly 175,000-square-foot retail store and 4,365-square-foot liquor store is at 10000 Omni Drive.
The 30.28-acre site is at southwest First Coast Expressway and Oakleaf Plantation Parkway, on the Duval side of the Clay County line.
Walmart Stores East LP of Bentonville, Arkansas, is listed as the owner and developer.

Walmart said the store is part of its plans to build or convert more than 150 stores to its updated model.
It said the store features an open layout with expanded home and apparel offerings.

It has interactive digital touchpoints, elevated fashion brands, a bakery, deli and fresh sushi bar.
Walmart said the store adds 400 jobs to the region. The retailer said it employs 120,498 associates in Florida.
“The opening of the new Walmart on Omni Drive represents a meaningful investment in our district’s economic growth and infrastructure,” Jacksonville City Council member Randy White said in a news release. “This project improves access to essential goods and services for nearby neighborhoods, creates local jobs, and reflects the continued development of the Omni Drive corridor. I appreciate Walmart’s partnership and the collaborative efforts that helped bring this project to fruition.”

As part of the grand opening, Walmart donated $17,000 to several local groups.
The Daily Record reported that city utility JEA issued a service availability determination letter in March 2024 for the project, with eight outparcels that include a Walmart fueling station and a car wash, general retail and restaurants.
CPH Inc. of Jacksonville is the civil engineer. BRR Architecture Inc. of Bentonville is the architect. FMGI Inc. of Woodstock, Georgia, is the contractor.
According to the store website, it is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
