Jacksonville-based Internet provider IQ Fiber announced Feb. 4 that Doug Guthrie has been named chief operating officer.
IQ Fiber said the COO role is new to the company. Guthrie will report to CEO Ted Schremp.
Guthrie will be responsible for overseeing the company’s network deployment, operational performance and customer service.
IQ Fiber said Guthrie has held senior leadership roles across operations, sales and marketing at broadband companies, including Cable One, Astound and Comcast.
IQ Fiber said Guthrie last served as vice president of systems operations at Cable One in Phoenix, where he led regional technical operations across six regions in 24 states and supported nearly 1 million residential and commercial customers.
“IQ Fiber has accelerated our expansion across the Southeast and the Mid-Atlantic,” Schremp said in a release.
“Doug’s experience leading large-scale operations make him a strong addition to our leadership team as we continue our rapid growth across the Southeast and the Mid-Atlantic.”
According to its website, IQ Fiber offers service in parts of Florida, Georgia, Maryland and South Carolina.
IQ Fiber launched 2021 with funding from New York-based private equity firm SDC Capital Partners.
