Children’s caregivers announce a continued partnership in 2026

Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Nemours Children’s Health agree to expand specialty care.

The partnership of Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Nemours Children’s Health will expand to offer more services focused on the treatment of young patients, according to a Feb. 18 news release.

Beginning in March, Nemours Children’s Health physicians will provide additional specialty care at Wolfson Children’s Hospital.

Specialties include:

    •    Neonatology and newborn nursery services in Wolfson Children’s Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) and Baptist Health’s Labor & Delivery units.

    •    Critical Care Medicine in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

    •    Neurosurgery.

    •    Infectious diseases.

    •    Rheumatology.

    •    Nephrology.

    •    Physical medicine and rehabilitation.

    •    Palliative care.

Nemours will also provide Wolfson with genetics care beginning in August.

In addition, Nemours Children’s will open new outpatient clinics across the region, including offices for NICU follow-up and Medically Complex Care.

The two children’s caregiving organizations have partnered since 1987.

Wolfson Children’s role as the region’s only children’s hospital is to provide space, staffing and equipment. Nemours Children’s has access to national expertise in specialty outpatient and inpatient pediatric care.

Already the two partner to provide general surgery, hematology, oncology, orthopedics, trauma surgery and urology.

“By expanding our collaboration with Nemours Children’s Health and having their providers work as an integrated part of our care team, we are ensuring that families across our region have greater access to world-class pediatric expertise right here in Jacksonville,” said Allegra C. Jaros, president, Wolfson Children’s Hospital, in the release.

In 2025, Nemours Children’s began operating outpatient cardiology clinics in the region and providing cardiology services at Wolfson Children’s Hospital.

“This expanded agreement brings together the strengths of two leading pediatric institutions to deliver comprehensive, coordinated care that improves outcomes for children with both routine and highly complex conditions,” said Nemours Children’s North Florida President Aaron Carpenter, in the release.
