The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences campus sold Feb. 13 for $71.53 million.
The school is at 1 News Place at Florida 207 and 312.
The address reflects when the property was the former St. Augustine Record newspaper headquarters.
ESJ Capital Partners, a real estate investment firm from Aventura, sold the campus through ESJ 1 News Place LLC.
The buyer was KPI St. Augustine LLC. The address on the deed for the buyer is Net Lease Capital Advisors of Nashua, New Hampshire, a company that acquires property in sale-leaseback deals.
According to the Florida Division of Corporations, KPI St. Augustine LLC is managed by Kawa Capital Management Inc.
Kawa, in Hallandale Beach, is an asset management firm that does deals with ESJ Capital Partners.
Net Lease Capital Advisors could not be reached for comment. Kawa said they could not comment.
KPI St. Augustine LLC took out a $73.15 million mortgage with UMB Bank of Salt Lake City as a trustee of The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in a lease-backed pass-through trust.
The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences announced plans in 2023 to build a new $74 million campus on the 14.52-acre property.
ESJ Capital Partners, which acquired the property for $8 million, was to oversee construction of the campus and lease it to the school.
Property records show the property comprises two buildings, a 38,024-square-foot structure built in 2001 and a 79,662-square-foot structure built in 2025.
The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences was founded in 1979 as a private, accredited graduate-level university for the instruction of physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, nursing, education and health administration.
Perdoceo Education Corp. bought the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2024 for $138 million.
The public company is traded on the Nasdaq as PRDO.
In addition to St. Augustine, Perdoceo’s academic institutions include Colorado Technical University and the American InterContinental University System.
