Hardee’s posted on social media that it intends to open its Merrill Road restaurant Feb. 24, where the fast-food chain closed in 2024 after a fire, bringing back its biscuits and burgers to Arlington.
The opening comes after about $2.1 million in renovations.
The city started issuing permits in June 2025 for site work and renovations to the 3,426-square-foot building on 1.1 acres at 9111 Merrill Road, east of Southside Connector and Interstate 295.

Plans indicate seating for 78 people and a drive-thru.
The Revered Group of America LLC and Tim Young Construction, both of Jacksonville, were listed as contractors. Doherty Sommers Architects Engineers Inc. of Jacksonville Beach is the architect. Blue Leaf Landscape of Jacksonville is the landscape architect.
Franchisee Phase Three Brands of Tampa is listed as the business owner.

Hardee’s Restaurants LLC of Franklin, Tennessee, owns the structure, shown in property records as 3,642 square feet, built in 1992.
The building was remodeled after the fast-food restaurant sustained fire damage from a roof replacement during what the permit says was in summer 2024.
ActionNewsJax.com reported April 27, 2024, that fire broke out early that morning, without injuries.
