Breeze Airways to launch service from Jacksonville to Fort Lauderdale

The daily nonstop flights begin July 1.

Breeze Airways announced Feb. 24 it will add an in-state option for Northeast Floridians traveling to South Florida.

Daily nonstop flights from Jacksonville International Airport to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport start July 1.

The flight to Fort Lauderdale leaves at 9:38 p.m. and arrives at 10:58 p.m. The flight from Fort Lauderdale leaves at 2:39 p.m. and arrives at 4:04 p.m.

“With this daily service between Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale, we’re providing our Florida guests with a convenient in-state travel option,” said David Neeleman, founder and CEO of Breeze Airways, in a news release. “This route makes it easier to stay connected across the state, whether traveling for business or leisure.”

The airline flies Airbus A220-300 aircraft and offers amenities including family seating, onboard Wi-Fi, preferred seat options and no change or cancelation fees.

“Breeze’s new daily nonstop flights offer travelers a great option to get to South Florida,” Jacksonville Aviation Authority CEO Mark VanLoh said. “We are thrilled they will be flying to Fort Lauderdale, as it is one of the nonstop destinations we are asked about most by the community.”

Breeze is offering a $49 fare promotion for reservations booked Feb. 24 through March 2 for travel between July 1 and Sept. 15. 

Flights are available at flybreeze.com and through the Breeze Airways mobile app. 

Breeze began flying out of Jacksonville International Airport in May 2022.

According to flybreeze.com, the airline offers service to the following cities, with some destinations being seasonal:

Columbus, Ohio; Hartford, Connecticut; Las Vegas; Long Island/Islip, New York; Los Angeles; New Haven, Connecticut; New Orleans; Norfolk, Virginia; Pittsburgh; Portland, Maine; Providence, Rhode Island; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; Richmond, Virginia; San Diego; and Westchester County-White Plains, New York.
