Jacksonville Golf & Country Club released renderings of the first phase of its $30 million renovation of club facilities and course redesign, a project that will include construction of a new pool complex and wellness center.

Improvements at the private, member-owned equity club include a new pool with shade cabanas, recreation lap lanes, a children’s area and a zero-entry feature. Construction is expected to begin in September, the club announced in a Feb. 26 release.

Called the “Blueprint for Tomorrow,” the project also will add a two-story, 18,000-square-foot building next to the clubhouse. It will house the wellness center, which will include dedicated cardiovascular and strength training spaces, group exercise and multipurpose rooms, a dedicated spin studio, men’s and women’s locker rooms and spa facilities. A tennis viewing terrace will be constructed between the courts and the pool complex.

The club is at 3985 Hunt Club Road, off Hodges Boulevard and north of Butler Boulevard. It opened in 1989.

Other plans call for the golf course to be entirely rebuilt, with design by Staples Golf Design of Scottsdale, Arizona. When the project was announced in April 2025, the plan was to close the course in September 2027 for construction that was expected to take 10 months to complete.

The club announced that resident golf members will be assessed $31,750 and social members will pay $19,150 for the improvements. There are also age-based discounts, according to previous reports.
