Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed two new judges to the 7th Judicial Circuit on Dec. 22.
Katherine Miller has served as a circuit judge in Volusia County since 2023. A Daytona Beach resident, she previously worked as an attorney for Wright & Casey P.A.
Miller received her bachelor’s from Vanderbilt University and her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law.
Circuit Judge Frank Talbot, of St. Johns County, has served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Florida since 2002. Previously, he served as an assistant state attorney in the 10th Judicial Circuit.
He received his bachelor’s from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his J.D. from Mercer University.
Both appointments are new seats created by the state Legislature in 2025.
