Anheuser-Busch announced Jan. 6 it will invest $30 million to upgrade its Jacksonville brewery and can manufacturing plant.

The Anheuser-Busch brewery is at 111 Busch Drive in North Jacksonville. Its Metal Container Corp. can plant is at 1100 Ellis Road in West Jacksonville.

Anheuser-Busch said the investment will go toward upgrading brewing and packaging equipment to increase the production of its Michelob Ultra beer.

The company said Michelob Ultra is the top-selling beer in the U.S. and Florida and the fastest-growing beer in the U.S. It also said the brand is No. 1 in bars and restaurants across the state.

Anheuser-Busch said the investment will expand the Jacksonville brewery’s capacity to produce beer, including upgrades to bottling lines and brewing tanks.

“Investments like these are incredibly important because they help us to enhance our operations while also sustaining jobs and driving local economic growth in the communities where we operate,” Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth said in a news release.

“Anheuser-Busch’s announcement of a new $30 million investment to expand production at its Jacksonville facilities is excellent news for Northeast Florida,” U.S. Rep. Aaron Bean, R-Florida, said in the release.

“This kind of bold, forward-looking investment will create new jobs, provide more opportunities, boost our state’s economy, and further solidify our region as a cornerstone of American manufacturing.”

“By upgrading brewing and packaging capabilities with a $30 million investment, Anheuser‑Busch is helping position Jacksonville to grow its manufacturing sector and strengthen our workforce development in this area,” State Rep. Wyman Duggan, R-Jacksonville, said in the release.

“We look forward to working together to turn this investment into a sustained opportunity for the hard-working people of Jacksonville.”

In December 2024, it announced it was spending $10 million to improve the Jacksonville brewery.

The company said that investment was for upgrades to maintain quality standards and efficiency, as well as updates to beer-manufacturing equipment and plant infrastructure.
