Heritage Capital Group appointed Ron Salateo as a principal in its Jacksonville office, the investment and financial advisory firm announced Jan. 6.
Salateo has 15 years of experience advising middle-market health care and financial services companies on mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships and other matters, according to a news release from Heritage.
Before joining Heritage, he held senior corporate development roles at Florida Blue, Black Knight and Fidelity National Information Services. He has advised on more than 70 transactions working with health care and technology companies, founder-owners and private equity firms.
Bill Sorenson, CEO of Heritage, said in the release that Salateo “brings a unique skillset that includes extensive deal experience” and will spearhead the firm’s efforts to expand its work in the health care sector.
Salateo holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School and a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from the University of São Paulo in Brazil. He serves on the board of directors of the Association for Corporate Growth North Florida Chapter and is a leader in the Boy Scouts of America organization.
In the release, Salateo said Heritage had established itself as a “premier middle-market advisory firm” and that he would “help scale the firm’s healthcare platform.”
