New emergency health facility opens in Arlington

A new option for health care opened Jan. 7 in Arlington with HCA Florida Memorial Hospital’s freestanding emergency room.

The facility will be open 24 hours daily, HCA announced in a release.

The facility at 8011 Merrill Road near the Merrill Shopping Center will be open 24 hours daily, HCA announced in a news release. The site is at Hartsfield Road, less than a half-mile west of Interstate 295.

A grand opening is scheduled for 8 a.m. Jan. 23. 

The 10,860-square-foot facility includes 11 private rooms and a trauma bay. Diagnostic services include CT scan, ultrasound and X-ray. It is staffed by emergency room nurses and board-certified emergency physicians.

“The goal of our new freestanding emergency room is to provide better access for patients needing emergency care right where they need in it in the Arlington area,” said Reed Hammond, CEO of HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, in the release.

It cost about $8.3 million to build and equip the facility. Diagnostic services include CT scan, ultrasound and X-ray. It is staffed by emergency room nurses and board-certified emergency physicians.

Architects Catalyst Design Group of Nashville and TMPartners of Brentwood, Tennessee, designed the building. Hoar Construction of Orlando was the contractor.
