Curtis named vice president of people strategy at Patriot Rail

The industry veteran was a human resources leader at R.J. Corman Railroad Group.

Jacksonville-based Patriot Rail Co. said Jan. 22 that Josie Curtis is the company’s new vice president of people strategy. 

Patriot said Curtis has nearly two decades of human resources experience. She oversaw HR operations at Nicholasville, Kentucky-based R.J. Corman Railroad Group for more than 1,400 employees across 23 states. 

“She brings industry and organizational development experience to drive our core strategy–the Patriot Way–a culture of collaboration and innovation,” Patriot Rail CEO Brandy Christian said in the release. 

Curtis will oversee Patriot Rail’s people strategy, employee relations, compliance, compensation and benefits, performance management and serve as an advisor to executive leadership.

Founded in 2006, Patriot Rail says it is a U.S. short-line and regional rail service provider with 31 short-line railroads and four excursion railroads.

Services include transloading, railcar storage, real estate and logistics planning and assistance. It operates more than 1,200 miles of track with a presence in 23 states.
